Music at Martin Benka's - Concert in honour of the 136th anniversary of the Slovak artist's birth

The Slovak National Museum in Martin - Martin Benko Museum cordially invites you to an exceptional concert on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of the birth of one of the most important Slovak painters, Martin Benko. This evening will pay tribute not only to his art of painting, but also to his love of music, which he cultivated throughout his life.

The concert will take place in Friday, September 20, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the premises of the Martin Benko Museum in Martin. The programme will feature a unique setting of Benko's musical works performed by a string quartet under the direction of Marian Kramár. The evening will also feature compositions by his favourite composers, such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and the Slovak composer Eugen Suchoň, with whom Martin Benka had a personal relationship.

This concert is realized with the financial support of the City of Martin and the Commission for the Administration of the Estate of Martin Benko at the Fine Arts Fund.
