The Hana Zelinova Memorial Room in Vrútki is dedicated to the memory of the prominent Slovak writer and native of Vrútki, Hana Zelinova (1914 - 2004). The exhibition, opened on 26 September 2003 in the building of the Municipal Office in Vrútki, pays tribute to her contribution to Slovak literature and preserves the heritage of the Turiec region.
Life and work of Hana Zelinova
Hana Zelinová came from a working-class family and received her primary education in her native Vrútky. She continued her education at the Teachers' Institute in Bratislava and in 1937-1938 worked as an editor of magazines Slovak East a News in Košice. During the Second World War she lived in Prešov and Bratislava, where she devoted herself fully to her literary work.
Among the best known works of Hana Zelinova is the trilogy Elizabeth's Court, The Call of the Wind a Flower of terror, which describes the fate of landowning families from Turca in the period from the 18th to the 20th century. This saga was adapted into a film under the direction of Andrej Lettrich, bringing its story to the screen.

Visitors can see her personal writing desk, original furniture and a collection of works translated into many languages. The exhibition also includes objects related to her rich life and literary career, which will bring visitors closer to her legacy. This exhibition is a lasting reminder of Hana Zelinova's contribution to Slovak literature and culture.
