Minčol Hill is located on the ridge of Lúčanská Mala Fatra, through which the red trail continues to Strečno or to Veľká and Horná Lúka. Thanks to its location, you can easily reach it from several starting points, and therefore it can be classified as one of the accessible and attractive tourist locations of the Mala Fatra.
In good weather, it offers a beautiful circular view of all sides of the world. You can observe cities such as Žilina, Martin and Vrútky. You will see the mountains of Mala and Veľká Fatra. In good weather you will see the ridges of the Western and High Tatras, the hills of Veľký Choč, Babia Hora, as well as the Kysucké Beskydy Mountains.
Thanks to its excellent location and views, tourists also come here for regular annual events.

The annual New Year's Eve climb, which is attended by hundreds of tourists, is a tradition. It is also organized here Run to Minčol from the village Višňové.
Due to its strategic location, heavy fighting took place in the vicinity of Minčol during the Second World War. On its slopes, towards the Javorina saddle along the red trail, there are still remains of trenches, but also of weapons. In April 1945, in the vicinity of Minčol, soldiers participated in shelling German positions and the liberation of Žilina.
