Kľak in Veľká Fatra (1 394 m above sea level)

Kneel is a lesser known mountain in the mountain range Great Fatra, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Several hiking trails lead to its summit. The yellow hiking trail will take you to the top from the village of Sklabinský Podzámok. The route is 10.3 km long and takes approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes.

Another direct road leads from the village Podhradie along the blue tourist trail. This route is 8 km long, takes about 3 hours and is considered an easier option of ascent. At the top you will have a panoramic view of the whole Little Fatra a Turčianska Garden. In good visibility you can also see part of the Low Tatras a Krivan.

  1. From Sklabinský Podzámek:
    • Sklabinský Podzámok (507 m) - Kaplnka (569 m) - Lajošova (785 m) - Huľkovo (960 m) - Koškárovská meadow (1 187 m) - Kľak (1 394 m)
    • Output length: approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes.
  2. From Podhradie:
    • Podhradie - Tiesňavy, Shelter (654 m) - Pod Javorím, Shelter (820 m) - Koškárovská lúka (1 187 m) - Kľak (1 394 m)
    • Output length: approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Whichever route you choose, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views at the top.
