On Saturday, 30 September 2023, the next in the series of sports races Fatranský Vlčko will take place in Lúčanská Mala Fatra.

The sporting event with the subtitle Dog Skyrace Martinky 2023 is intended for amateur and professional runners, who will run a 4.6 km circuit with an elevation of 270 metres. For families with children, there will be a children's circuit, which will run along a simple one-kilometre course. "The aim of the event is to make Turiec and the mountains of Mala Fatra more attractive for tourists and visitors from other regions of Slovakia. Visitors will stay here or come by caravan, so that during the race they can get to know the surroundings of the Turčianska basin or the town of Martin," informs Michal Miko, race coordinator.

You can run with any breed of dog

In previous years, among the four-legged participants were representatives of breeds such as European sled dog, collie, Czechoslovak wolfdog, pointer, Slovakian kopov, but also many crossbreeds. The smallest dog on the track was a dachshund and the largest was a Scottish Deerhound.
