Day 1
08:00 – 12:00 Ascent to Krížna
The route begins in Dolný Harmanec by trekking up to the peak of Krížna through the Bystrická Valley, along the yellow trail.
12:00 – 13:00 Lunch at the Kráľova studňa mountain hotel
The Kráľova studňa mountain hotel is located in a protected area of ​​the National Park Veľká Fatra at 1,300 m above the sea level. Far from the bustle of civilisation, deep in the heart of nature, the mountain hotel provides perfect conditions for replenishing both physical and mental energy. The renovated hotel with a rich history is known as the crossroads of hiking trails of Veľká Fatra and important stop on the Trail of the Slovak National Uprising's Heroes. 
13:00 – 14:30 Ascent to Krížna
We will keep on walking along the red trail to the top of Krížna (1,574 m), which is the third highest peak in Veľká Fatra.  It lies on the main ridge. On the summit there is a structure of the military communications service facility with transmitters. The peak of Krížna offers a panoramic view of the Low Tatras, Malá and Veľká Fatra, as well as West and High Tatras.
14:30 – 15:30 Ascent to Ostredok
Ostredok (1,592 m) is the highest peak of Veľká Fatra.  It lies on the main ridge. From the top, there is a beautiful panoramic view.
15:30 – 18:00 Passage to Chata pod Borišovom (chalet)
The red hiking trail continues through the mountains of Suchý vrch, Koniarky and Kyška to the chalet.  One of the alternative routes is a shorter route by traversing Ploská (blue mark), or a trek up to Ploská on the red trail. From there go, we can continue to the chalet Chata pod Borišovom.
18:00 – 19:00 Dinner at Chata pod Borišovom
The Chata pod Borišovom (1,300 m) is a mountain cottage overlooked by the peak of Borišov in Veľká Fatra.  The year-round facility is located in the saddle between Borišov and Ploská in the central part of the mountain range. The Borišov chalet serves as a destination for mountain hiking treks, but also a starting point for ascent to the main ridge of the mountains of Borišov, Ostredok or Krížna.

07:30 – 08:00 Breakfast at the Chata pod Borišovom (cottage)
08:00 – 09:30   Trek to Čierny Kameň
Čierny Kameň is a hill in the Veľká Fatra mountain range, in the district of Ružomberok.  It reaches the height of 1,479.4 m above the sea level and its north-west slope is the Čierny kameň nature reserve.  
09:30 – 12:30   Trek to Smrekovica
We will continue on the green trail through Rakytov to Smrekovica.
12:30 – 13:30 Lunch in the Smrekovica mountain hotel
Smrekovica is the most important stop on the hiking trail of the Veľká Fatra ridge, on the Liptov side.  It is situated between the peaks of Skalná Alpa and Malá Smrekovica. It serves as a good place to relax on the trek over the central part of Veľká Fatra.  
13:30 – 16:30 Trek to Vlkolínec
Along the green trail to the saddle Pod Sidorovom, and further down the yellow trail to Vlkolínec.  Vlkolínec is a village located on the foothills of Veľká Fatra, and a city part of Ružomberok in the Žilina Region. It is a conservation area of ​​folk architecture and as a remarkably preserved residential complex, consisting of typical timbered houses of the characteristic Central European type, it is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1993.
16:30 – 18:00   Descent to Ružomberok
